Andrew’s Spacious Home Office Garden Room In Tonbridge, Kent
Garden offices are fast becoming an important feature in many homes, and often our challenge is to create a compact work-from-home space without taking over the garden. In the case of Andrew’s project, in an expansive mature garden in Tonbridge, Kent, it was more a case of finding just the right spot to create a peaceful, productive outlook for a generously sized home office.

The Brief
Once the site had been decided upon, our team got to work designing a configuration which complimented its surroundings. Nestled into the side of the garden, the large 7m wide garden room would be set amongst established greenery, giving it a natural backdrop but also meaning it didn’t disrupt the garden views from the home.
As our client wanted a truly self-contained office, a toilet room was designed into the back left hand corner of the studio, and Eden took care of the appropriate waste and water connections.
The site itself was set on multiple levels, therefore consideration was needed to design hardscaping that helped the garden room to sit more discreetly in its surroundings.

The Design
Andrew’s home office features a generous set of 4-door bifolds immediately in front of his desk, allowing for an indoor-outdoor work environment in warmer months. In addition to this, two extra full-height windows sit either side of the doors, adding to the expansive bright feel of the space.
A stunning bespoke decking area with intricate mitred steps was designed to anchor the garden room into the tiered garden, whilst also providing a lovely spot for a sunny morning coffee.
After work was completed, Andrew commissioned his own bespoke cabinetry on the left side of the studio, for extra storage, and installed roller blinds to manage the sun’s glare during work hours.
The Outcome
We can’t imagine a more perfect place from which to work from home, and with everything you need on site, from bathroom to coffee machine, it’s a truly self-contained hub for work or rest.
