Nothing uniform, we build summer house bars in all shapes and sizes, but how do you know what size to choose? Whether you’re looking for a small cabin bar, or a large, modern multi-room entertainment space, we’ll create a room to fit your space and needs
- We recommend a minimum size from around 3m x 2.5m for practicality and comfort. As a bespoke supplier, if your space is smaller than this, let us know and we can see what’s possible.
- You’ll need at least an extra 1m x 1m of space if you’re considering adding a toilet room
- We usually build up to approx. 30m2 for larger buildings, ideal for dividing into multiple functional rooms
- Increase your entertainment space outside with a wraparound decking area and an extended canopy – great for protecting guests from the UK’s unpredictable weather.

FAQs
Do garden bars need planning permission?
As our studios are classed as outbuildings, your garden room bar should typically fall under permitted development and therefore in most cases, planning permission isn’t required.
It’s important to keep in mind that this depends on the dimensions and height you are looking to build, any existing adaptations to your home, and other implications like whether you’re in a flat or conservation area.
Our team are not planning consultants and it’s the homeowner’s responsibility to check the permissions on the property, but we do offer a planning application service and are always happy to guide you through the process.
How long will it take to build my garden bar?
With a garden bar, you can usually expect for our team to complete the build within two weeks. Our carpenters hand craft on site so while quality takes time, we can assure you it’s worth the short wait.
Within those two weeks you can expect your building to be totally complete and ready to enjoy. That’s high-grade insulation, bespoke glazing, all essential electrics, WIFI, heating and painted plastered walls.
Of course, if you opt for anything more complex, like site clearance or bathrooms that require water and waste connections then we may take up to an extra week to complete the job.
Can I choose the paint colour for my garden bar?
Every Eden is finished with painted plastered walls for that real home-from-home feel. We offer white painted walls as standard, however, should you want something more bespoke we are always happy to quote to supply and finish in your chosen colour.
How will my garden bar be heated?
As standard, we fit sleek, slimline Wi-Fi controlled panel heaters in all our garden room bars. Alternatively, you could maximise wall space and convenience with remote controlled underfloor heating or opt for a multi-purpose heating and cooling air conditioning system.
What sizes and shapes are available for my garden bar?
A better question might be, what shape and size do you want your garden bar to be? We build to any size, usually up to a maximum of 30 m2 internally, in line with permitted development. L-Shape and multi-room options are available and offer a great way to maximise the use of your outdoor garden bar.
Our summer house bars are completely bespoke and designed from scratch to suit your needs and that of your garden. So, whether you want one large, premium entertainment space or a smart home gym/workspace with a bespoke bar room next door, it’s totally up to you.

Can I have integrated speakers in my garden bar?
Absolutely! Music can set the mood for the whole evening, so of course you’ll want to get the sound system right for your garden room bar. While we fit brushed steel plug sockets, spotlights and Wi-Fi connectivity as standard, we can also integrate any tech needed to make your room the social space you hope for. Do Eden offer decking and other landscaping for my garden bar?
We can build bespoke decking in a style to match the cladding of your garden room bar. In addition to this upgrade, we can also add to the design of your summer house by featuring an extended canopy and bifold doors to help you make the most of your time socialising alfresco.
